Capturing the morning at Porthtowan with @sketching_cornwall
Experiments with colour and painted paper.
A dog came running and flipped up all my paint and my art box into the sand 😶🫠.
It was like if you've even seen, the very old YouTube video of Fenton the dog, where the owner can do nothing about it. It was like that, but with paint.
Anyway I handed in all the landscape paintings for the exhibiton next week, which is at the @thegrowboxcafe at Krowji.
So I'm looking forward to seeing which ones make it :)).

I've been really enjoying painting on top of colourful paper 🎨👩🎨🌻.
It's been a fun and freeing experiment :).
Also Porthtowan 🥰😍.
I handed in my paintings for the exhibition in March, of which I spent ages deciding what to show, and then I painted these today..so I handed it all in 😂.
I can't go through deciding again 😆.

I've been sorting through the work I've made on location with @sketching_cornwall . We are going to be exhibiting our work @thegrowboxcafe from 🌟🎨1st of March to the 27th👩🎨🌟.
I'm super excited to take part, especially as my brain has been a non stop critic goblin this year!
I honestly was like what do even have to show and then I found a whole stack of drawings that my brain goblin deleted the memories of, cos it does that 🫠.
Such a lovely stack of memories.
We can submit two pieces each and they can be anything.
My favorite is the man feeding the ducks.
But I've just now found 6 more drawings of porthtowan, so who knows.
I'd love any suggestions, I don't usually do this sort of thing but I'm going to change that this year!

I've been all caught up with a cold this week boo!
So why not spend my weekend outside painting in the rain. :)) That'll fix it.
I was actually desperate to get outside. Cabin fever is real for me 😄🫠.
I saw the rain and thought, do your worst! 😄😅.
I am going to hear the birds and see those trees and clouds!
I actually managed to film my next videos for my substack too hurrah!

I sat on a muddy hill, drawing fallen trees (DON'T SIT NEXT TO FALLEN TREES, I'm just surrounded by them at the moment.) whilst thinking of this clip of Poirot that I couldn't get out of my head.
Honestly, I will happily sit in a field in the mud with my pencils and paint.

A little catch up from this week's and last weeks makings.
When it rains I don't have Internet and I also don't like instagram but I still want to keep you posted every now and again.
I will mainly be on Substack now at- LeahBooteIllustration and also at -bodydoublingforcreatives
The link to my substack is in my bio. You don't even have to sign up :)) just a chill space to draw to.
I've been stuck indoors because of the storms/grateful to have a home to be stuck in. Cos the world. Cheers to being grateful for basic things that everyone should have😊.
But it makes me super restless and then really empty creativly, so I've been trying my best to create from indoor inspiration and I found these mice getting up to antics and someone made a snowdog portrait of their dalmatian and maybe for a moment I can breath again.
And find some joy.
Also being able to be with my art group and feel connected to my community has been a life changer, so it was really lovely to be able to draw them painting on Tuesday.
Also cafe drawings what a treat.
Especially where I got to draw a man feeding his little dog his sandwich.

I've created Body Doubling videos where there's no distraction, just 10 minutes to reset your nervous system, find some peace to draw to away from being bombarded by the world right now.
Last weeks film was a chill time drawing with sheep 🥰😊. I loved hearing them munch when I sketched them!
So here's a few clips I've filmed on my phone whilst drawing to the video, to show you what it's like.
Last week I found a photo on pinterest of a dalmatian with a snowdog dalmatian and now my pinterest is full with snow animals and sheep in hats. So that's glorious.
Next film is this SUNDAY 1st FEB :)) where I go on a lantern trail and draw in the dark.
Last note, I have no Internet when it rains, so my instagram is probably going to be a lot quieter until...it...stops...raining.. in England.. 😊😆.
I'm making the most of it today!
