Play and the role of Playworkers

A project to capture, the reactions and stories of teachers training in the value of Play.

I started by documenting the teachers, how they discovered and questioned their own beliefs about childhood and their methods of teaching. It was really interesting to watch them reflect on their own values of play and how it really feels to be at school.

My favourite image is the one where I was drawing a teacher playing with clay and creating her own creature to be left at the playground. Her fellow teachers were so impressed by it and so moved they said “I didn’t know this about you.” To which she replied “I didn’t know this about me.” These are the moments that are so important to capture! This moment in particular summed the power of play in education for me.
